Curry leaves grown here at Beck Grove emanate an aromatic, zesty smell and look like small shiny lemon leaves.
Curry leaves or "sweet neem leaves" as referred to in most Indian languages are not related to curry powder which is actually an assortment of spices (usually turmeric, coriander seeds and ginger). Curry leaves are packed with carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorous, fiber, irons and vitamins such as vitamiin C. They are also known as Also known as karuveppilai, kadi patta or curry vepila.
Chefs recommend heating curry leaves in oil to bring out their strongest flavor. Curry leaves are then used to flavor soups, stews, rice, dips, relishes and garnishes. They can be used to make thoran, vada, rasam and kadhi, maju kreung, and gulai.
SHIPPING: All curry leaves must be inspected by USDA before leaving our grove. Please allow extra time for this process. Once inspected they may be shipped via any FedEx method.
